1200m: Starts at the end of the chute in the centre of the course. Straight run of 500m to the first turn, it is possible to win from an outside gate at this start, but on pace runners have an advantage when the ground is rain affected.
1300m & 1350m: Starts on the back straight of the course proper. Run of 350m to the first corner, inside barriers have an advantage.
1400m & 1450m: Located in the back straight, inside barriers have an advantage, particularly when then rail is out.
1500m: Starts in a small chute and the end of the back straight. A fair start but majority of winners start inside barrier 11.
1750m & 1900m: Barriers are located just after the winning post on the left side of the course. Inside barriers are a distinct advantage.
2000m: Similary to the 1700m & 1900m starts, begins at the end of the chute on the left of the course. Straight run of 450m to first turn but most winners are drawn inside barrier 11.
